I got this note from Sari early this morning.
Today was not so good. I woke up this morning feeling very nauseous and with a slight fever. The first run was fast with me throwing up a bit and then we moved onto the biathlon which wasn’t much better. The bike was long and I had to be double pulled and even then we were losing time. I could not stomach anything which was tough and was feeling horrible the whole time. The canyon was cool but I was slow and got sucked under a rock and Michael had to pull me out. A bit scary. Paddle was long and still felt bad. We ended up 6th about 18 minutes off of Richard’s team. Hopefully tomorrow goes better but as of now am not feeling much better. Thanks to everyone who has posted words of support on the site!
Of course, I’m wondering if Sari’s nausea was the result of whatever she was drinking on the podium after the prologue.
Hopefully Sari will be feeling better by tomorrow morning and the team can make up some time on the final two stages. Thanks for everyone’s support!
