12,095 feet…it was a tough climb. We spent Saturday playing outside and enjoying the mountains around us. Mom got up early and went for a long run with Elinor while Dad and I finished getting the house ready for a showing later in the day. We picked Mom up and headed to Aspen to ride Independence Pass while it is still closed to cars. Independence Pass normally opens Memorial Day weekend but the snowpack is super deep this year so it is still closed. However CDOT has plowed the entire road so it makes for a perfect road ride with 4,000 feet of climbing. Mom and Dad took turns pulling my Chariot to the top while I got to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Check out how much snow the plows had to get through!
We had to spend a little more time out of the house so we went into Aspen to hang at the park and have an early dinner. My new favorite snack:
That’s right, I pretty much refused to eat anything else on Saturday so Mom and Dad would feel like they had give me more. I’m already learning all the tricks! I refused to nap on Sunday because I am feeling like there are way too many good things I could be missing. Dad and I hung out again in the morning. I got to do laps around the house practicing my walking while Mom got out for a little training. I spent much of the rest of the day playing in the yard with Mom and the dogs while Dad guided a group of rafters through Slaughterhouse.
